Will air cooling be enough?

No, you need a full on air conditioner attached to that thing to keep it cool.

 

 

 

 

I'm kidding, before someone gets butthurt. Yes you can use an air cooler.

It will be just fine. If you want to push quite the OC then get the Noctua NH-D15 but otherwise the 212 EVO is completely fine.

if you plan on pushing your chip to the limit then something better would be advised

Yeah, don't be expecting any massive overclocks though, and also for the record the high end air coolers performs just as good as the best AIO's

No it won't. Every AMD user, even if the user went with AMD to save money, will HAVE to buy a watercooling AIO or loop.

good to go. you could get like 10% more performance if you spent 3-5 times as much on the cooler, but for that a 212 evo is fine.

It's fine if you don't OC. No matter how much air you shove through it, its heatpipes are holding it back. (it's only got 4)

AMD doesn't run hotter than intel, it just has a higher TDP, the IHS is bigger and so is the die, so it's easier to dissipate the heat
