I'm just wondering, is this possible? Because I know displayport supports 4k at 60hz, but I'm not sure about across multiple displays.

I've heard about MST and an MST hub. Would that work?

Cheers!

It is possible, but you need a beast of a PC. (talking the quad titan black type PC's)

@Mandhlenkhosi

You need 3 separate displayport outputs as the maximum resolution for a single displayport is 4096x2160 (I think). The 295x2 has 4 displayports which equals to max. 4 displays per GPU if not using Crossfire.

So it's not possible to use a splitter and play at 60hz then?

Not with a splitter. With a r9 295x2 you can run eyefinity 4k, because it has 4 displayport. They have to be separate cables, but eyefinity anyways. I was just speaking about the capabilities of the 295x2 with the 4 screens per GPU. Get 2 295x2s and you can play surround 4k.

Ok then. May I ask, what is MST for then?

Depends on the region. Tell your country and currency. If you meant MSRP. Or tell me what MST means? I am not sure.

I meant it as the displayport technology MST :P

Oh, I see. Just googled MST and it was Mountain Standard Time. :P

MST is for lower res screens. 4096x2160 can support as many displays as you cant as long as the total amount of pixels does not go over the 4096x2160, which is around 8.8 Megapixels. You can run 4 1080p screens for example out of a single displayport.

I'll be honest, that's something I'd do ;)

Seriously though, it's a shame it's so difficult for 3 screens 4k 60hz, with most gpus having only one displayport.

Oh well....

60Hz is impossible atm. I would go for 1440p surround if I had funds. And windows scaling is the biggest turnoff for me at least.
