Device connection sound when screen off

Hey guys.. So my problem is like this in the power save settings I set for my monitors to turn off in 10mins of inactivity.... When this happens my pc keeps making the new device found sound followed by the disconnect sound and the process goes on until the screens wake up (the sound is the ding ding sound when you plug say a usb in) and I've worked it out to be the monitors somehow making the noise happen.... I'm guessing it's an easy fix I just can't seem to think of one...

System is on Win7 and the graphic card is R9 290 with latest driver

What connector are you using for the mointors? D-SUB/HDMI/DP/ ?
