Go to solution Solved by chicksoup,

Thank you a lot for the comment.

Yes you are correct, i never used a mechanical keyboard, just used normal keyboards from the school or the keyboards who came with the laptops. The thing that i have afraid the to choose the switches, i like the "click" sound when i hear on the reviews or unboxing, but i don´t know if i will like when i will use. But yes, this decisions just i can make them. I like the keyboard that @Verne post where. Have the features i want and is inside my budget.

Anyway, thank you a lot for sharing your experience.

I tried out the MX Blues at a tech store and they didn't sound that loud, but my friends that use them are pretty loud over skype or when I'm at their house, but also my K70 with MX Browns is loud enough for people to complain on teamspeak (mostly due to the keyboard being between me and the webcam/mic)

Hi guys,

I am posting this because i need some help from you.

I want to buy a keyboards for gaming, but i real don´t know how to start. I already read something about the subject, and i know the keywords is a very personal thing.

For this reason i want to ask to not say something like "buy this because is the best" or something like that.

What i would like from you is thinks that are important and need to pay attention when choosing a keyboards.

Thank you for your time! :)

Here are some of the more important things to consider when buy a keyboard:

1. What kind of switches do you want? Mechanical keyboards are much more expensive than membrane or chiclet but offer wide variety of different kind of switches.

2. What size of a keyboard are you looking for? Full-size, macros, ten-keyless, mini, etc.

3. Do you want back-lighting? Simple one color lighting or fancy effects? Any color preferences?

4. What is your budget? Keyboards go from $5 to $500+ depending on your needs...

From those topics, the switches is the only thing that i don't have an answer... I would like to try the mechanical switches, but just because i see everyone talking about them, to be honest!

About the rest, i want a ten-keyless keyboard, wiht back light but does need to be fancy. And the budget is about 100€ or $130!

Thanks again for the time

I would start by taking a look at CM Storm Rapid-i.

When I upgraded my keyboard I jumped from a cheap dell chiclet keyboard to the Corsair K70 and at first I was a bit dissapointed, because I was excpecting a little bit more, but over the course of a week I got used to typing on it and I would never want to go back. The Cherry MX Browns are great for gaming and typing and what I specifically mean is how easy they are to actuate and you know when the key was registered and you can quickly press the key two times. I assume you've used crappy keyboards in school or at a library and everytime I have to use one of those keyboards now I can only think of my nice keyboard at home and I feel a little bad for the people that don't use mechanical keyboards.

Before I picked out my keyboard I only tested a Logitech G710+ and a Razer Blackwiddow, but not having tested the keyboard that I got beforehand didn't cause any problems since I did a lot of research, reviews, unboxings, comparisons and so on... the only thing that bother me a little bit about the K70 is that a LED died, but I will wait until the warranty almost runs out to RMA it.

My conclusion for you is to look into the features you want, watch different videos on the keyboard from different sources and maybe look at reviews of older products of the same company since there might be more information on them, but as long as you are informed on what you are getting you should be fine

I'd wait for the razer blackwidow chroma (http://www.razerzone.com/gb-en/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-blackwidow-chroma)

its mechanical and can light each key up any colour.

Thanks for the reply!!

I think i prefer a ten-keyless kyeboard, and i don't care much about the fancy back light. Just want back light, do not need to be fancy :)

Thanks!
