Is Dell U2713HM a good gaming monitor

kaneandtaker

I'm going down to buy this particular monitor in a few hours. I need a quick answer whether this monitor is recommended for 1440p gaming.

Is 8ms response time for this monitor going to be okay?

Thanks!

8ms isn't the best, but I wouldn't expect you to notice it. Have you seen one in real life? The PB278Q IPS by ASUS is 1440p and has a 5ms response time

Response time and lag are two completely different things, just as an FYI. There's basically two parts, signal processing, and screen response time, which make up the overall "lag". TFT measured the overall lag to be about 28ms which is close to two frames. The response time specifically will have an impact on motion blur, which I imagine wouldn't be ideal at 8ms.

Depends whether or not that is important to you. For games like CS:GO, or Dota, I wouldn't advise it, but I'm assuming if you're looking into a 1440p monitor then they probably don't matter to you
