Is my CPU ok?

I have i5 4690k and ASUS z97 hero mobo in the Windows Task Manager the cpu usage is 70%-80% is it ok? I see that while the ordinary work of the pc not while gaming.

Do you have a lot of background programs running because these suckers can take up a lot of cpu power and thus slow down the other things.

If you just installed or started some programs they could be using juice. You can order programs in Task Manager from highest to least in terms of CPU Usage. Do that and see whats causing the problem, it might be a programs error or it might be something legitimate.

Very strange, while only running chrome and task manager on my i5 4690K with msi z97-g55 sli the cpu usage is around 1-5%

That's a distribution platform from Apache, it's harmless but it does this, you can go into Windows Services and disable it fairly easily rather than stopping the .exe every time.

just end the task. It isn't anything important.

Try scanning your pc for viruses and malware since tomcat6.exe opens up a port for the internet wich can be used by other malware or viruses.

I did that and the anti virus found one virus and deleted it
