5 million Gmail accounts got stolen. totally secure

I don't use hotmail myself, but I never heard of anything bad about them, which should mean that it can't be that bad.

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

There is a reason they got stolen, people don't know how to use passwords, Google doesn't have control over their users stupidity. Besides, articles say that the passwords most likely were stolen from other sites.

Well I agree with that, but you have to keep in mind that Gmail is a mail provider that gets focussed by such attacks.

Yes, that's a problem with big providers, they get more attacks directed twoards them. It depends on what the OP wants, if they want a good e-mail provider both Gmail and Outlook are good, maybe try to decide based on other factors too? Like Google services and MS services.
