Hey LTT residents :) , I am planning budget build for my friend and just for peace of mind want you to tell me if you see any major flaws.

The build is based on Photon build form Austin Evans, only slightly moddified.

Please try not to recommend parts, because I am in the Europe and prices are a lot different than in the US or Canada. And I just fit in the budget :)

Edited - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3vckqs Great way to look like an idiot ^^

Thanks in advance :)

Just get unlocked pentium and intel mobo that support haswell refresh proc. No need to buy cpu cooler.

Why intel? Because you can upgrade to strong cpus later. For now, overclock on stock voltage.

Get just seagate baracuda or WD blue, whatever is cheapest. Also, check xfx 550w prices.

And get cheapest branded heatsinked RAM, must not exeed 1.5v and it can be any speed.

Agreed with @djdwosk97, dump the SSD and get a better graphics card. That one will simply disappoint. Also ditch the overpriced LED fan, save 20 bucks and put that towards performance.

There are no SSD I derped and posted bad link. The LED fan is to match the front and funny things is, cost is the same as normal 120 fan without LED :)

You can get cheaper fans that perform the same. To be honest you'd probably be fine with stock fans and stock cooler.

Yeah, truth about the fan. This build is for a friend who know nothing about PC´s and probably not gonna clean it often. So I would rather use bigger cooler because from what I heard the stock coolers love dust.

Maybe I am just paranoid. :D but the Hyper TX3 EVO is cheap :)

Maybe try and find a mobo with 2 pci 16x lanes in case you wanna get a cheap upgrade in a year and run crossfire

I would do that for myself, but the friend isn´t an enthusiast as we are, and gonna use it till it stands then pass it to his little brother :)

Also that MOBO is dirt cheap here, can´t go any cheaper than that :)

I would gladly use Intel but it´s way too expensive for budget build here, that 622 dollars is more like 750 here, so go figure :)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117374 $69 cpu

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128727 $89 motherboard.

Can't crossfire or SLI but your friend will be able to get a way better cpu down the road if he wants, and if I've picked the right cpu (theres a bunch) that one is pretty damn good for being overclocked.

The performance you will get with fm2+ motherboard and cpu's (especially a cheap one) will be disappointing at best.

Also with that motherboard you can use a smaller and possibly cheaper case.

I understand, I'm just saying that if you can, it would be better to save up more because the build you have chosen is already barely going to hang on. in two or 3 years time it might not be able to play new games etc.

Yeah I know and I appreciate the advice :) , But he is not hardcore gamer, 2 or 3 years is just fine, he gonna save some money in between this time and I gonna build him something better :)

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gQ2kqs G3258 and good Gigabyte mobo all for $585.28 later the CPU can be replaced with better one and thats for the intel side here :D for AMD I'd suggest to wait for Athlon 860k it should be the same price BUT on FM2+ socket which means PCIe 3.0 controller (you know becouse the newer is better :D )
