Text not Smooth

I recently started seeing some sort of lines across my screen. This is very noticeable during videos and when using large text. I do not know whether this is my graphics card, monitor or just software. All types of diagonal lines are not smooth but very jagged. I'm very scared and hoping that nothing is wrong with my graphics card I just bought less than 2 months ago!

 

PC Specs:-

-Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43

-CPU: AMD FX-8320

-PSU: EVGA 500B

-Graphics Card: Gigabyte R9 270

-RAM: Patriot Viper 8GB RAM

-Hard Drive: 1TB Western Digital Drive

Tried using another monitor to see if it persists?

I don't know whether you can see, but in the first picture the text looks horrible with lines coming out of the bottom of the 'S'

In the second picture you can hopefully see the laptop screen edge very jagged.

Does it happen on text and/or icons in Windows folders (Explorer, I mean)?

And, I assume you have Windows 8, does it happen on Windows 8 Apps as well?

The monitor is not the problem. If it was, then the screen shot would not show.

Hey there, sorry to hear about your issue.

I would suggest that you update your BIOS, Graphics and Chipset driver. This should solve your issue. 

Give it a try and keep us posted ;)

Sorry took so long to reply, but I tried updating my drivers to the beta ones by AMD Catalyst 14.7. No luck there. I think I might have to return the card to Gigabyte...

I do not notice it very much in the Windows 8 UI as the icons are quite small to notice the lines,
