I'm going to build a custom pc soon. I want to get it kind of sooner than later and I'm eventually going to buy a GTX 780ti. however, i don't want to have to wait that long so i'm just getting a cheapish GPU that will handle 1080p games in Ultra/High. I have chosen the EVGA GTX 750ti FTW edition but i want to make sure that that will be the best for my money. Any other suggestions?

is it me or is the gpu in the picture a 750 not a 750ti

you should go for a 600w psu to have some nice oc headroom

What are you planning to use the 780 Ti for? The R9 290 is a better choice unless like me you prefer the extra Nvidia software and features, in which case a 780 or 770 is probably a better choice

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)

the 780's for tripple monitor gaming

Then 2 R9 290s is the best option unless your not worried about frame rate and graphics settings

Also 3 monitors for gaming is not 1080p unless you are using one for gaming and the other two for web browsing and the like on the other two

Ultra 60fps?

On three monitors? Then two R9 290s will give the best price to performance unless you need single slot, then the only option is the R9 295X2 or if your crazy a TitanZ (I can't believe I just said that!)

dual slots fine, thanks for the help :)

Sorry actually meant two cards in SLI/Crossfire, if Crossfire is fine then 2 R9 290s is the way to go for triple 1080p surround gaming

I would probably rebalance this system get a cheaper cpu, case, ram. Then you can get the 780ti and a better z97 mobo straight off the block without having to waste money on a 750ti.

Corsair 350D - ASUS Maximus V Gene - Intel 3770K @ 4.6Ghz - Corsair H100i - G-skill Trident X 2666Mhz 4x4Gb - 2 x EVGA GTX 680 Classified 4Gb @ 1250Mhz - Corsair 860i - 2 x Samsung 840 Pro 240GB (Raid 0)

Carrying on the suggestions from @Popadookie get an i5 4690k, a decent budget Z97 board like an MSI Gaming 3, 16GB DDR3 @1600MHZ, a much better PSU like an EVGA Supernova 1000 G2 and a pair of R9 290s like the Sapphire Vapor-X if you want triple monitor gaming on Ultra @60FPS then trying to a budget build for triple monitors is hard to do

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)

-You should get a better PSU. The Corsair RM750 for example is just a few bucks more: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-rm750

-The Core i5-4690K will be good enough and is a lot cheaper.

-Dont get the B85 Mobo... From www.pugetsystems.com: ''The B85 chipset is the "budget" business option and as such is very limited compared to the other business chipsets. As such, it does not support iSIPP or vPro. Like the Q85 chipset, it has four SATA 6Gb/s ports compared to the six found on Q87. The B85 chipset is a good option for systems that need only basic functionality without the various features found in the other business chipsets.''

How about something like the Gigabyte GA-Z97 Gaming 3 or 5 instead?
