So I watched totalbiscuits video on dead rising 3. Where he talks about serious performance issues. He was getting roughly 40fps at max settings at 1080p. I was worried because my rig isn't quite what his is, but I went ahead and got the game anyway. My performance is 60-75fps constant with occasional dips down to 55fps. Now this was the same with watchdogs, he couldn't get a stable 60fps, can't remember his exact figures. But I want to say around 45ish fps with watchdogs. I however got a solid 60-70fps with dips to 50fps when driving.

Has anyone noticed any performance issues with dead rising 3 or am I just lucky that mine is pretty smooth? On another topic, why exactly does total biscuits framerates vary so much lower than mine? He is running I believe a 4770k and dual titans. While I know titans aren't a huge step up for gaming from the 780ti, I just wonder why he is struggling so much when my weaker system performs better in cases where he struggles.

Did you get a copy of it pre-release? That might have something to do with it.

Ah yes! I completely forgot he played the pre release. I bet that is it, while it doesn't address watch dogs. It does explain dead rising 3. I was just expecting much worse performance and was pleasantly surprised when it ran so smooth.

. While I know titans aren't a huge step up for gaming from the 780ti,

titans are SLOWER at gaming than the 780ti, just bear that in mind (also he was only running on one card not dual as SLI is not supported right now)

Ive always wondered how you people ( meaning you with high end gpu's ) complain about bad fps. i've never experienced this with any of the games i play O.o

Well when you invest so much money you expect the best. I bought the 2nd or 3rd (if you count titans) highest tier card available at the time. I expect ALL my games to run at a minimum of 60 on max settings. I came from nearly a decade of using laptops to game, where I had to run the game with a lower resolution(to resolutions like 800x600), at the lowest settings just to play at 30 fps. Now that I have seen the beauty games can offer and I have the hardware to obtain it, if I get anything less than the expectation it is more than likely due to poor coding. In which case we have a right to complain.

@twoscoops

Like I said it has some dips every now and then. But after playing for about an hour the lowest I saw was 45 fps, but that was for just a second. It averaged 60fps. Now I do have an overclock on my card and that probably does help some. But still I was shocked to see the big difference between mine and his. Though I seen the same with watchdogs so I'm wondering what exactly is going on. Maybe it is my overclocks that are giving me such better fps, I don't know. But I'm not complaining just curious. ;)

I mostly get 25-30fps on my set up (locked), as only one of my 670's works due to no SLI support and I'm rendering the game at 1600p.

In game cutscenes give me around 10-15fps.

I've tried using the GeForce Experience to auto set the fidelity options however it sets everything to low and set the renderer to 720p...

This is terrible.  I would actually play through the bad frame rate however as the open world mass zombie killing with godlike powers is crazy good fun, but I can't run it for longer than 10mins without crashing to desktop.

No I'm not going to roll back my drivers and then disable options in the control panel just to play one game.  The devs can patch it and nVidia can release a driver set.  It makes me happy I didn't preorder or buy through Steam where it costs like 50euros.  Picked it up on CJS  Keys for £22.50!

I get a soldi 60FPS with an R9-290 and a 4670K. No performance issues at all.

How? We pretty much have the same specs but I get 30-60fps. The only difference is my 4670k is at 4.4Ghz. What driver are you using? Is it installed in your ssd?

14.7. It's installed on my SSD but that won't make any difference. I think i just got lucky for once.

Actually it does.  There's an issue similar to the Crash to Desktop bug that can be partially resolved sometimes by moving your game files to C:\ instead, so providing like most you run System SSD and Storage HDD then this may help :)

Christ, reading back: partially resolved, sometimes, sub 30fps, optimus issues, only 16:9 support, total render failure... We as gamers shouldn't roll over to the devs OR poopoo other gamers because they have problems and we don't.  We take this shit far too often from devs and publishers and the situation is only getting worse, especially when you bundle it all together with preorder bonuses and retailler specific dlc.  You only have to look at recent launches mired by issues such as Sims 4, Sim City etc.  Totally broken engines and simulators that we happily throw 50 euros at before the title is even has a street date.

To the people who are blaming other people or their computers because your pc ran it fine:  shut up, you have nothing to add.  These issues are widely known by players and the developers themselves and have been reported throughout the gaming media.  Stop being a superior butt-nugget and stfu so the rest of us can maintain some aspect of hope for humanity and hold on to the ever decreasing sliver of light in which people aren't self-centered spoiled children with an I GOT MINE SO SCREW YOU attitude.

Hmm I got angry  :lol:

I was actually using 14.7 before getting drops of 20 in Dead Rising 3.

I'm noticing a trend of getting unpredictable performance with these "next-gen" games.

Yep. Almost like they just expect the extra power of PC's to cover the lack of optimization needed.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Did unlocking the 30fps game cap have any weird effects?

@twoscoops

I haven't noticed any, seems as normal as it should for a dead rising game.But I didn't play it with the framerate cap on, so there could be some few hiccups. If there is I'm not seeing them however.

Cheers mate, I'll give it a shot. Wouldn't mind a good zombie game.
