I have a question, on the 19th of september the new graphics cards are going to be released, at this point i have a 780 which is broken :( and im sure im going to upgrade, should i wait until the 980ti ore something like that comes on the market or should i buy a 980 my budget is around 600-700 bucks and i don't know if it would be a waste of money to buy a 980 cause i really want to upgrade as fast as possible i can't wait anymore :D

The best way to deal with these things is to buy the 980, then sell it when the 980Ti comes out and use the money to buy the Ti version.

You can buy a replacement GTX 780 from EVGA. They have a StepUp program that within 90 days from the purchase date (assuming you register within the first 14 days of purchase) you can StepUp to a newer model that has released. You won't get a "980" day one, but would be able to StepUp if they release in the next 3 months. StepUp lets you put your entire purchase price (minus tax/shipping) towards the purchase of a newer model EVGA GeForce GPU.

Or, you can wait without having a GPU. Up to you.

EDIT: Note that with StepUp you have to trade in your current GPU (the new GTX 780 in this case) in its original box with everything it came with in it.

That's if they do stick with the tens branding. But your probably right, buying the early bird top tier will demonstrate a leap forward then sell it off for the slightly more refined card.

Yeah, Linus and Luke are going and are under NDA. Why would there be an NDA for a gaming only event? ;)

Yeah, Linus and Luke are going and are under NDA. Why would there be an NDA for a gaming only event? ;)

Also why would they organize this huge worldwide event if they don't have anything else significant to reveal and it celebrates PC gaming? One thing that bothers me is how is Jen Hsun going to be at 7 or so places at once to hold that shiny new 980 in his hand which works like the piece of eden to all the people around :D

Why are people expecting a 980ti? Wasn't the only reason the 780ti released because the 290x beat the titan out of the box? Was there a 680ti, 580ti etc.? or is the 980ti expected based off it's success? is there a consistent pattern for Ti launches?

Sorry, I know that's a lot of questions.

I have no idea i dont work for Nvidia thats what some people say but we will never know i wish it didnt or it came out sooner i bought the 780 right when it came out so i paid the price of a 780ti for a 780 -_-
