so i'm thinking about buying some PC parts off of ebay (AM3+ motherboard Open Box and a New R9280X) i was wondering if the risk was greater than the reward. Thanks for the help ( I'm new to this forum)

It really depends on how they are selling it. If the seller has good reviews and actual pics, and allows returns, you are probably safe

Building on what Firearm said, even if you have a bad board, you have warranty and PayPal/Ebay buyer protection.

I would never really want to buy anything for my computer used, cases are the exception as long as the quality of them is still good.

Some asshole on ebay abused the eBay buyer protection claiming someone broke into his house and stole the item I sold him.

if your gonna buy a item for cyptocurrency then ASIC should be the one, i think the one your talking about are mining cards which i'd stated in the post above.
