Hi, I have just build new pc recently and started with overclocking today and im not sure about few things, so if you guys can help me a bit i will appreciate it :)

Here is what i have:cpu is i7 4790k, motherboard Asus Maximus VII Hero and memory Kingston HyperX Fury. Im using Aida64, CPU-Z and RealTemp.

Here is what i have done: cpu is running at 4698.90MHz at 1.280V and i left the memory at 1866MHz, system seems to be stable (did just short test so far), but im not sure if the temperatures are ok. They are somewhere between 62-84°C, most of the time under 80 (around 68-78), its hard to tell as they are moving a lot, here is link for video where i recorded the screen with temperatures during test https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbpXpG1mTdU&feature=youtu.be (not the best quality probably, its recorded with phone because I didnt know if screen capturing software wouldnt affect the test, but it should be readable...). Do you think its ok, or should I decrease the speed and voltage a bit? Also do you think that Aida64 stability test is enought for temperature testing, or I should use something else?

I will be mostly gaming and rendering videos on that pc, but I dont want to worry about it even in extreme case that I will render something for 24 hours straight for example, or worse scenarios.

All opinions and suggestions are welcome, thanks guys :)

Wow, I have the same Mobo and CPU!

As for your speed/voltage and temps, For now, i think thats great! I'm running 4.7Ghz with 1.365v at ~60C idle, so as long as you can keep temperatures down, I think you should be all right.

What cooler do you have?

80's perfectly safe.

Crank it up until stability becomes a problem.

And welcome to LTT Forums. :)

60C idle? I hope you mean 60C under load because 60C idle is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy too high.
