I had the above happen once on a slow computer. File repair took ages but I was happy it wasn't hardware related or required reinstallation of Windows. It was a corrupted driver or something if I recall.

So whenever I try to get into windows it just infinitely spins the welcome wheels. What do I do to fix this? I have Windows 7 Pro.

Well how rude you are. Windows welcomes you, deeply welcomes you, in fact, as it likes you so much, and you complain. Cheeeeze. What did it ever do to you. You should be nicer with your computer. Maybe all it wants a hug.

In all seriousness now, it could be a startup call that is being executed. or a corrupted file. That is usually the case.

Going into Safe Mode will test the first one, and the second one can be fixed by executing a windows repair.
