Now remember a few things here. I have 1 HD 7950 and I've tested 2 and that was the amount of power I NEED.  If I get 2 cards, I will HAVE to watercool both, blocks run 150/each plus 2 more fans and 2 more radiators and fittings.  Also be mindful of my all black/red setup.  Ideally, I'd like to stay not much over 2 grand, but expand-ability later would be nice.  I will be getting a 1440p monitor soon or will go surround: 5760x1080.  I want to play the newest games preferably at max settings (granted in areas where AA/AS should be turned off for the sake of performance I understand).  I also do video editing, moving into streaming and moving into more high end editing stuff.

Well if you have one 7950 you may as well just buy another the exact same and then run them in Crossfire - You'll get great performance and should be fine with whatever you wish to do.

Can't Vapor-x cannot be water blocked.  I will be selling it off to help fund this along with my I7-2600k.  Also everyone thinks frame rating issue won't be fixed for a year.

Depending on if you're an AMD Fanboy or an Nvidia.

Nvidia is very good for video editing, whereas AMD is more gaming related.

Depending on if you're an AMD Fanboy or an Nvidia.

Nvidia is very good for video editing, whereas AMD is more gaming related.

NVidia fanboy no doubt, but I will not choice NVidia if AMD has a better product for the price (Hense my DH 7950).

well it seems your mind is made.

Crossfire isn't working atm, and if I crossfire now, I won't have any upgrade path.  Also factor in 2 cards will run 550+300 for water blocks+150 for more radiators and fittings puts me over budget.

I could do one now air cooled, thinking about SLI, but I'd HAVE to get the windforce x3 to keep the color scheme which makes it hard to waterblock later.

780 blows away a 7950. I think its almost double the performance. Check out the benchmarking videos Linus and Slick did.

Well researching the GTX 780 windforce, it beats an HD 7950 Boost by 50-110% @ 2560x1440 in most games, so I think I am sold.

you may want consider a single Titan over a 780 for the 6GB (that may help a bit more to the 1440p game max)

 

and a 850w/1000w PSU (for a future Crossfire/SLI)

 

 

 

or one more 7950 (air cooling the two cards) Crossfire for a 5760x1080 Eyefinity AMD that i hear it works Awesome

 

(in this case, a 750w/850w PSU be my choice  ^_^)

i agree, to real max all settings at +60 fps you will need more power gpu that this options (two 780 maybe :ph34r:)

6.220.800 - 3x1080p

3.686.400 - 1440p

 

(i am thinking in a max "Metro LL" by the way  ;))

Don't forget to take into prospective Frame times! Apparently, it is much worse with Crossfire configurations!
