is it ok to run a graphics card like 750ti, r9270(x) with a VS550 corsair power supply with a 4790k i7 processor? Also i bought this PSU from a price perspective so what makes the expensive PSU worth their price???

Thanks in advance

There is a cases and power supplies section where there is a sticky

The Corsair VS is cheap because it's pretty much the worst PSUs they have. Expensive PSUs are expensive because the components on the inside are of higher quality

expensive psu have different things

some got for the higher price more watt output.

Others have better components and save you money in the long run and will be last longer before it will be broken even at full power etc.

most systems with 1 gpu will be fine with psu around 650 watt then you have to decide the quality of it by going from non 80+ to 80+ titanium the higher in rank the better components they use inside the more they actual get the desired output advertised and the lower power consumption there will be.

for my opinion go for bronze 80+ or platinum 80+ aim high or don't aim at all is what i think of that.

the PSU will be fine for that setup it will draw around 200 watts .

the only thing you might get if you're system wants to draw around 500 to 550 watt the psu will fail and the older it gets the worst it will be.

i had a 500 watt psu and worked for me over 7 years had to change it because it was old and could deliver the power for my new system upgrade.

if i had a decent psu it would be no problem to handle.

there are a few notes to take.

1. always have good care for your pc

2. clean environment and make sure your pc is not running with 2 years of dust.

3. depending on your upgrades your psu can also live longer then 7 years but the degradation of its power limit will lower faster and will use slightly more power than others.
