Thoughts on this build? Also any way I could save some money (NO AMD, had too many bad experiences also hate the heat)? This is mostly an upgrade over my current computer so that my father can have my old one since I feel bad he has a shitty one and is the reason I have gotten into computers many years ago.

Looks good. Although an x99 is kind of a waste unless your doing some hardcore computing stuff. Even without the extra pci-e lanes. Still, no bottlenecks that I see. Might wanna get a 4gig 780 instead of 3 if you plan on doing multiple displays or high resolution stuff.

I will be doing 3D modeling, rendering, and compiling code. I do game a bit but that is not what this build is for. I have 3 1080p monitors that I will be running off of this, soon to be 2 1080p and 1 1440p so is 3 good or should I go 4?

Yeah you should go with more pci-e lanes, and SLI then. Stilll you'll be better off with that than you will on z9. I would also think more than 16g of ram would be better, could be wrong. That's a brand new chipset. Also, something like an h110 or H220-x (make sure it's the -x) would be a good idea since it's a prebuilt expandable AIO water cooler for when you want to cool those GPU's

It's a bit pricy, but what you get for the price is awesome.

For the RAM I did said getting more soon, ie, a 32gb kit to add with the 16 gb kit. As for the cooler, I did look at that one and decided that I could take and make a custom loop that would be better since I would make a fairly permanent solution ( large rads in a different room).
