CPU Swap Question

For my new build I'm getting an i5 4690K but I also want to get a G3258. I would like to see the performance difference of the two over clocked. So couple of questions. 1. If i put the i5 in without over clocking it can I just pull that chip out and stick in the 3258  with out doing anything else. 2. If I over clock one do I have to reset the OC back to stock before putting in the other chip.
