[Build log] Project: The Wallet Savior

Hi!!!

 

I am so excited to show off my first PC ever built. All I had before was a 3 year old ASUS laptop.

I decided to call it The Wallet Savior because I chose the best price/performance parts and even bought a used GPU.

 

so let me introduce you to the PC itself: 

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 a.ka. Pentium K

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 Evo

Motherboard: Asus H81K

GPU: VTX3D HD 7870 Black Edition (with Tahiti core)

RAM: Kingston HyperX Genesis 2x4GB @1600MHz

HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB

PSU: Corsair CX500

Case: Cooler Master N200

 

Peripherals:

Keyboard: Microsoft 600 Wired

Monitor: LG 23MP65HQ-P

Mouse: (from my old laptop) A4Tech Bloody V7M

Wall Mount: Electriclight KB-01-20

 

The build process was fun... to say the least. I did damage the motherboard so I had to buy a new one. You can read more here.

Then, after wiring, I killed my motherboard. Next Photos are from today.

Front wiring, I know it is nothing special but the case is very small and I couldn't route the biggest wire.

That's it for now. Please comment your thoughts about everything. I will keep this post updated. I will post some benchmarks when I have games installed (post and pre-overclock), also I will post a picture of my workspace when my new desk and chair arrives, currently using the PC in the kitchen

Just wall mounted my monitor and added a keyboard sliding tray. A lot more work space
