Firepro vs. Quadro

though we can all see who dominates the consumer graphics market(intel, haha just kidding, this is between amd and nVidia) out of the 2 pro graphics processors, who is more Superior, Firepro? or Quadro?

 

though you cant compare these to apples and apples which one controls more market share? the pro macs all have fire pro, but people use quadro on workstations. why does apple use Firepro if people are going to use the mac pro for video rendering. can a firepro render/have more power, compared to a quadro? 

 

or is this entire thread pointless...... the world may never know

FirePro is from AMD, which has a better price-to-performance ratio than Nvidia in both areas (workstation and gaming GPU's). The reason Apple uses FirePro strictly in the Mac Pro is because AMD gave them a sweet deal on them in a partnership, which makes the Mac Pro an okay buy for work apps.

 

To my understanding, when I was doing research on Quadro versus FirePro it just came down to which programs had better performance with which cards, and the value to the performance.
