You call yourself a "hardcore gamer", yet favour graphics over games and gameplay.

The 3DS is an amazing handheld. How many of the people here telling OP to hold off actually own a 3DS? The N3DS is at least half a year away, but by no means would I hold off from buying a 3DS if I don't have one. I have a 3DS XL for myself and my fiancee, and bought two regular 3DS consoles for my siblings. The library is so wide that I think everyone can find something that they will enjoy.

Why miss out on great games? There is so much to play that I would buy one without hesitation. They aren't going to segment their most profitable audience, the 3DS is still a top selling system.

Any gamer that labels themselves as "hardcore" is nothing but a wannabe. Why are you even reading this thread in the first place, no one cares about your PC mustard race crap. A real gamer can appreciate multiple things and not bind himself as a fanboy to a single spectrum.

So as the title say i'll be putting all my trust to nintendo that they still support the old 3ds even though they will be releasing NEW 3ds In 2015.

guys what can you say about my decision?

I can say that I owned the 3DS XL in black and hated it. I then swapped it out for the 3DS standard and was amazed. I love the 3DS standard. It's stunningly beautiful in blue, the pixel density is a lot better, certain aspects are admittedly objectively worse (the sweet spot for 3D for example) but I seriously prefer the standard.

This is totally objective though. You may prefer the XL. But I can say from an only slightly biased stand point that a lot of people don't
