haha, I am biased towards Intel for the obvious reason but anything below $800 going AMD would be a better choice IMO.

Eh, I still feel like my build would be better off in the long run because you can still throw in something like an i7 in there and still get great performance. :P

True, but then again, when/if OP wants to upgrade, the i7 for 1150 may be a but hard to find and stuff.
