Laptop freezes

hello everyone, for the last few weeks, my laptop has been freezing randomly, no blue screen or warning, the sound is stuck, whole windows is stuck. nothing works, no lights on my keyboard when i press num or caps lock just totally frozen, what i do is turn it off. and later turn it back on, and it does it again after a couple hours. i use coretemp to manage my temperature and it's nowhere near high when it freezes, its between 40-60 degrees celcius everytime when it freezes. i have checked HD sentinel to see if one of my drives was failing ( i have a samsung evo 120gb and a 1tb hard drive for storage dont know the brand) and they are both fine.

my RAM is also fine it never comes above 60% of usage i have 8gb of ram. and it seems that most of the times when it freezes im on google chrome, although not a particular website, i have done a full virusscan of my system with ESET and i have done a scan with malware bytes, came up with nothing, any ideas why it is freezing?

could it be chrome is corrupted? should i uninstall and download chrome again?

i also have been noticing that the laptop has become a bit slower, in games that used to run easily at 40 fps at its lowest for instance its having hikkups below 30s now sometimes,

i just dont know what to do

update drivers/firmware/bios. defrag the disk (DON'T if its a ssd) and clean up random crap, also get rid of start up back ground processes in "msconfig"
