I would go with a lightning better cooling and you can flash the bios so you can unlock the true power of that beast

Beware of him that is slow to anger; for when it is long coming, it is the stronger when it comes, and the longer kept. Abused patience turns to fury.

To my knowledge, Sapphire has a super quiet solution for the top-tier Radeon GPU's [280(x)/290(x)] and most of Nvidia's cards will run fairly quiet regardless.

I wouldn't get the Strix though unless you're doing 4K gaming and wanting to buy 2-3 of those cards. Get a regular 3GB version of the 780.

In my opinion:

Sapphire has my eye for Radeon GPU's if I ever wanted one.

EVGA or Asus for Nvidia cards.

Radeon cards have gotten much better since that generation man, haha. They're not jet loud (at least every card but the 7990 isn't) as long as you have an aftermarket cooler, Sapphire having the most popular that I've seen - dat Vapor-X tho.

If you're looking at Nvidia I'd go for an EVGA Superclocked or Classified for that awesome warranty if you're in the states. I too doubt that the 780ti's price will come down, haha. You could wait for Black Friday and see? :)
