Hi, I was planning to a 5M roll of RGB LEDs and a controller (see below) to light my computer. I've seen this done before on youtube and in pictures, but I dont know how to connect it to my power supply. Has anyone done this before and can give me some tips? Thanks

I have two phobya rgb flexlights and phobya controller with IR-remote and it uses molex to connect to psu.

Here is link to it:

The adapter says:

12 volt DC Input.

The yellow lines out of your PSU, give 12volts DC. connect the + side on the green wire, and the - side on a black wire. use preferably a molex connector.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect. But actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff."

Dont understimate my skillsz, you might look foolish.

in a molex (4-pin) connector the yellow wire carries 12V and the black's are grounds. so all you have to do is connect the red(inner) wire from the unit to the yellow and the black(outer) to the black. you might be able to use a molex-to-fan header converter and take it apart to connect the unit to it and insulate it correctly

sorry for not having any pictures.

don't have access to a PSU right now ( at least one that i can mess around with)

:)

hope this helps.

i've got that in my build but there are some downside to it. i've been using it for less than a year and the colour white is already changing to a yellowish colour for some of the leds and it's not completely white. And when wiring is really hard.

And here is the video of the actual installation of the unit. Hope you guys like it, and as I said, let me know what you think :)

Oh ya, and this unit just plugs in with an actual 12V Power Supply to the wall, I'm sure you could rig it up to a 4pin molex if you really wanted to, but I just ran it out along with the plug for my PSU and works fine without drawing any power from the PSU in case you have a smaller size.
