I currently have a10-5800k as a processor, Asus f2a55-m lk2 plus motherboard and r9 270x toxic gpu. Planning on buying a 4690k and a Gigabyte z97x gaming 5 motherboard. I just play maplestory and dota 2. I dont like fps games cause it makes me dizzy. Do i really need to buy the 4690k + motherboard?  Thanks for the answer!

Nope, if you want a faster PC get a cheaper board (H or B series) and a locked processor, something like a basic i3 or i5

K processors are really only for enthusiasts or e-peen or people that need to push performance for really high end applications and games

That will be a lot faster than the A10, although probably not that much faster for the money

If you plan on playing something like star citizen, definitely upgrade, fm2 and fm2+ are terrible. I went from an fm2 5700 a10 to a 4690k and a z97 and the performance difference has been huge for me.

Youtube it. Gonna be awesome.

I got a Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5 because it was on sale for $117, was SLI capable, and the heatsinks didn't look as terrible as the ones on gigabyte's other low end z97 boards

If you're happy with your gaming performance as-is, why are you considering an upgrade at all? Are there other games you intend to play?
