What's my best GPU choice?

WiiMAN

Hi. I wanted to try latest games but my GTX 295 won't cut it. I have an ASRock 970 Extreme4 motherboard that doesn't have PCI-e 3.0 sadly. So what is the best GTX card that I can take full advantage of without wasting potential?

Most graphics cards aren't bottlenecked by the PCI Express 2.0 x16 bus.

780ti...... current graphics cards dont saturate the bandwidth of 2.0 so you can use any card realy....

Well, you could get a 780Ti and it wouldn't matter.

some cards you would find on ebay are mining cards which could break suddenly, i suggest buying from newegg or amazon which are new, as for the card then a gtx 750ti or a r9 270 would be your best bet.

That 750 looks tantalizing. But just by chance, is there a specific brand or something that has a sex appeal similar to a GTX 295 or the Titans?

@ @phillrulz @tmcclelland455 You guys should've waited to post after he actually replied with his response & your reply of "780 ti" isn't within his budget.

R9 270 or GTX 750 ti at best on newegg & ncix us. You might be able to squeeze into your budget a R9 270X or GTX 760 on ebay second hand on ebay, anything higher from well-known retailers will cost you a fair bit more & I'm not sure whether you'd be getting your moneys worth out of it.

i don't think theirs a card that looks like tha titans

i think this will do

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487028

It looks really nice. But if you could answer a few questions for me about that card, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Is that card dual GPU?

Can I get more than 60 FPS on supported games? I have a 120Hz TV so I can take advantage

Will it be cool enough on a Phantom 530 case with the pivot fan?

not a dual gpu, depends on which games on 60fps(won't be able to play new games at 60fps at ultra

i guess you don't have to worry about temps unless it goes to the upper 80c, but i think it should be okay

i think the 750 is between the 650 and the 660 with less power consumption
