The 5820k will probably surprise you as far as cost goes (in a good way), I was just having a play with the haswell-e's and gigabyte x99 gaming g1 today, pretty awesome stuff!

Looks like a vast improvement over the previous generation, DDR4 is going to kick ass too.

EVGA and AsRock will release mATX boards at launch, others like Gigabyte and MSI we still have to wait for. I am also very interessted in those little babies :)
