I'm new to the forum rooms and I would like some help on a PC I thinking of building.

The parts list is linked her:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/D8w4ZL

My question is:

Is this any good, and will it work as a gaming PC, below is why I chose each part:

CPU:

AMD A10-7850K:

This is a good quad core with good overclock ablates, as well as I good GPU built in. (JayzTwoCents review)

CPU Cooler:

Enermax ETS-T40-TB:

Is is more of a shot in the dark.

Motherboard:

MSI A78M-E35:

It has everything I need. (Austin Evans has used in his builds)

RAM:

G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2x4) DDR3-2133:

8GB as that is what most people recommend now a days,

2133 as I'm running a APU and it does make a difference with this APU (JayzTwoCents review)

Storage:

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM:

WB is a good brand, 1TB is big enough for now and 7200 is as good as I can afford.

Case:

Corsair Graphite Series 230T Black:

It's big enough, it's good looking, cheep and Linus gave a good review.

Power Supply:

Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply:

Is maybe overpower let me know, in theory the PC should draw no more than 200W, but I may add a graphics card down the line.

Optical Drive:

LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer:

I still use them, blue ray not needed, so this is cheep and does what I need.

Operating System:

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit):

7 as it's what I know and I'm not a fan of 8, OEM as its only going on one PC, 64 bit for the RAM.

Expansion Cards:

Encore ENLWI-N3 802.11b/g/n PCI Wi-Fi Adapter:

One less USB port taken up.

All this is up for change, I am on a tight budget, it will be driving a 1440x900 monitor and playing Minecraft, Civ, FPS, and so on, I'm OK with medium graphics.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd say it's decent for an entry-level gaming PC, although I don't know what you're going to use it for, so I can't really say whether it's good for you or not... :)

I don't know too much about AMD's line of APU's but I will give you my input.

I feel that in a gaming PC, a discreet graphics card is almost always better than an integrated one.

Also, don't take a shot in the dark with that fan.  Why not just get the hyper 212 evo?  It is a reliable budget cooler.

i5 4670k (can OC to 4.4Ghz) - Hyper 212 evo w/ AC MX2 - XFX Radeon R9 280X8GB ADATA XPG V2 DDR3-1600 - MSI Z87 G41 - Corsair CX600M 600W PSU - 1TB HDD - 120GB SSD

Hi there,

Quite a nice built.

Speaking on memory I like G.Skill Sniper 8GB DDR3-2133 for Intel XMP profile allowing to build more speed when needed. Regarding the storage I'd pick WD Black drive instead the Blue one as for your gaming pc you'll need maximum speed as well as performance so you can get that from Black series as the WD Blue hdds are mostly appropriate for every day usage, storage etc. The WD Black drives have the warranty period - 5 years, meanwhile WD Blue drives have just 3 years.

If interested you may check for some more info on WD Black drives here: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=760

Hope it hepls you, best wishes!
