Quick question about multiple monitors

I am going to get a new monitor today making the total three.

A new 144hz one with VGA(lol), DVI(what I need) and HDMI (no use for 144hz)

An IPS display with DP(don't have a DP cable) DVI, and HDMI.

And a regular LCD panel with HDMI and Probably DVI too.

My question is, if I use 2 of the same connector types, say 2xHDMI on 2 different HDMI ports on my GPU, is that acceptable? Will that work? Or does each monitor need a different type of connection?

If you have 2 HDMI ports on your GPU, sure. Assuming you're using 2x HDMI 1x DVI, it should be fine.

What monitor? A good number of monitors that use DP include a DP cable. My Dell's both did.

Dell Ultrasharp U2412M, maybe it came with it, not sure, but the box is surely thrown out at this point.
