So, yet again... I come to LTT for some help I am looking to build a client a computer, he has a budget of $700 total. He wants to be able to make music, and stream shows to his TV via HDMI. He has requested a 1TB hard drive, 6GBs of ram, and he also needs a 24" monitor to go with it all. I was thinking something revolving AMD for this one, Maybe the 6350, or an APU that is powerful enough. The only thing is, I am not good with AMD, and I a complete 'noob' when it comes to their APUs. If anyone could give me a little help, I would greatly appreciate it.

I know, I thought that too. I was going to go 8GBs because it isn't that much more, on the same note, the more money I can save the better though.

The only purpose for it to exist in this build is to drive the monitor

If the client wants a beefier GPu then GTX750 Ti, paying 35$ will get him an R9 270X

Very similar to what I had before, but like I said I am trying to stay with one seller, and this is a little much on their website. Thanks though!

By the way how do you get all these client builds? Do you just put an ad out that you build PCs and people contact you?

I have made an add or two, as well as a information rich website to help people understand what I do, it helps them 'trust' the builder.

In all reality it's not for gaming, that is why I had looked at an APU.

Yeah, I couldn't imagine that it is bad, given the clients budget, he didn't have much of a choice either.

$700 Canadian, I assumed the client had the keyboard and mouse, I didn't incorporate an OS because I didn't know if he had one, or if I was to buy one. So in the last email I made a point about that, for this sake just include the OS.

An APU (A10-6850K) build is also possible - slightly better graphics, not as good compute; roughly the same price. Fitting in a reasonable gpu doesn't work given the memory, monitor, and o/s constraints.

As a bonus this will handle modern games on low/medium settings at 1080p with comfortable framerates if he ever feel like playing video games, if not it will still allow to do anything.

If quiet operation is something important for your customer i would add an aftermarket CPU cooler, something like this would be flawless:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr910htx3g1

It won't break the bank but still much quieter and better quality than stock heatsink and will allow some overclocking (nothing crazy but still...)

As a bonus this will handle modern games on low/medium settings at 1080p with comfortable framerates if he ever feel like playing video games, if not it will still allow to do anything.

If quiet operation is something important for your customer i would add an aftermarket CPU cooler, something like this would be flawless:
