Hello, I have found out that my processor i7 3770k does not support my Kingston Hyperx Predator memory. How is this even possible? When I bought it, I just checked that the motherboard supports it and went on with that info, but now I have had some stability issues and I think i found the culprit. My memory: http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/khx24c11t2k2_8x.pdf

Supported memory for my cpu: http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/core-i7-memory-suppliers-0412-datasheet.pdf

Is my ram really the problem here? What if I just put like the same timings, voltage and frequency as the supported ram, why wouldn't that work? thanks for any advice!

@MakeTheGOD

Welcome to Linus Tech Tips!

Pretty much any memory will work with the 3770k, it will automatically clock, undervolt, or change timings by itself if necessary and memory settings are on Auto. Consider getting an RMA on your memory.

Guys, could this be the problem? http://puu.sh/b6CyG/ec05218f9c.png

They are different sticks, except the XMPs are the same, Weird I bought exactly the same memory when I doubled my memory from 8 to 16 gigs...

yea it looks like a mismatch of RAM

but try manually setting the speeds and voltage

if that fails

run at 1600MHz

Left one is 1600MHz ram and right is 1333MHz ram. Thats your problem.

model states both are 2400MHz single stick KHX2400C11D3/4GX

only they are different batch of RAMs

Well, then they run at wrong speeds. Besides only XMP or manual overclock allow ram to run over 1600MHz.
