So today i finished my first pc build and i am having trouble getting into the BIOS menu. When i start the pc and the pc boots up i get to the startup screen i press f12 several of times but nothing happens. The keyboard is connected via usb it looks like the keyboard is working because it lights up but not sure if that proves anything. So i was wondering if anyone got any idea of what im doing wrong?

F2  or delete are usually the bios keys, not F12

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Ye i see the rpoblem you need to get a brain retard guy u use the wrong keys use the damn F14 key

Don't be rude. Be helpful.

I litteraly face rolled my keyboard. Would i have to find a keyboard with ps2?

OP i would try using a PS2 keyboard then. Some computers on first boot, or some boots in general just refuse to work with certain.all USB keyboards.

  • 2 weeks later...
  1. Your manual

Chapter 2 page 16

"To access the BIOS Setup program, press the <Delete> key during the POST when the power is turned on"

  • PAGE 2 from the manual seems somewhat important too, and is likely where we should start.

"Identifying Your Motherboard Revision

The revision number on your motherboard looks like this: "REV: X.X." For example, "REV: 1.0" means

the revision of the motherboard is 1.0. Check your motherboard revision before updating motherboard

BIOS, drivers, or when looking for technical information"

2. Have you tried another keyboard?
