Hey guys

So a Kitchen Showroom company has requested a £600 budget build, for a PC that is fully capable of rendering Kitchen previews and 3D kitchen models, they are currently working with basic i3 and i5 CPUs that are totally dependent on their internal graphics. Please tell me what you think of this build http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Tahab_1/saved/k8PQzy and if I should change anything? They want the build to be sensible, so I've kept the case simple and with no window, as well as this they wanted wireless keyboard and mouse and a wireless adapter. I'm not really happy with the case, as I do want a bigger one. But It'll do. PCPP Says that the GPU will not fit in the case and that I will have to remove the drive cage however, there is not drive cage and HDDs are simply screwed into a slot. So I'll be fine there.

Please also note to view the PCPP link in UK version as I am living in England :)

I would drop the 212 evo and get a 8350

Did someone say kitchen showroom???

Awww, your not our salesman :(

That's probably the best build really for that application at that price, unless you were willing to get rid of the evo to get an 8350, yet the 8320 could be overclocked to the same speed, so it's not really worth it. Decent, you get a thumbs up from me.

Thanks guys! Speedy responses as always! Loving this site so far! Better than Toms Hardware and PCPP forums!

This really is Overkill in my opinion! It should last them and I really enjoy the idea that I can do another build! Just came off the rebound after I built one 2 weeks ago (My first PC) :) Also, can you please tell me whats with this forum and a kitchen guy? LOL

We had, shall we say, an incident, a while ago, with a lovely spammer who posted about some second hand kitchens available in the UK from his showroom. Lovely chap, a bit misguided but cheerful and nice enough to talk to anyway. :P

The people on PCPP don't know what they are talking about. They will say any build is good if its expensive

You're already over budget and haven't taken a cut yourself, what kind of business are you running? :o

I'm doing it for the fun of it :), Plus I think I may be tipped generously as the Owner of the Showroom (my uncle) thinks that appearance means good performance, which is why he has Dell all in one PCs scattered around in his showroom! Going to make this little black box knock his socks off, and hopefully knock open his wallet ;) However If I were to be running a proper business I'd take 15% of the overall price of the build not including peripherals.

Did you suggest that they simply add discreet gpu to their existing systems?

Have you established how much storage they really need? I ask because an ssd will make a big difference and the possibility is that an all ssd build is possible.

Here is an alternative. An mITX Intel Xeon build. Presumably with 3D work the cpu is more important than the gpu. Thus any decent add-on gpu sould provide good displays.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£179.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£83.94 @ Aria PC)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  (£59.98 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Sandisk Solid State Drive 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (£46.00 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card  (£119.99 @ Ebuyer)
Case: Silverstone SG05BB-450-USB3.0 (Black) Mini ITX Desktop Case w/450W Power Supply  (£109.55 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Total: £599.45

I asked the owner, and he said that he doesn't mind "louder" machines that will give him more juice, because currently they leave their PCs on overnight just to get one render done, The SSD would be a nice touch if they didn't use up so much goddamn space! They have folders scattered along their desktops and pretty much have winner files and Jpegs everywhere, I could possibly lower the HDD to 500GB but that's as low as I am willing to go, just because they may call me in one day to empty out the HDDs (no thank you.) I've only built my own PC before, once, and I'm not comfortable building in such a little case, I think a midtower, is great and they want a tower to be sitting on their desk or underneath, (The owner is all about looks, so the smaller it is the less attractive it may appear to him)

This being said, I will talk to him and ask him if he would prefer your build. (I've saved a copy on my PCPP)

Cheers for the help!
