Good evening/morning/afternoon :) I currently have a Amd Radeon HD 6950 2gb, and it doesnt seem to fit my need when it comes to gaming, lately ive heard that the amd radeon 8000 series, and 700 series are coming out sooner or later. My main question is should i buy a Asus Matrix 7970 Platnium or a gtx 680, or if i should wait for the new series of cards to be released :)? Thank you to all the respond :) (and i am sorry to everyone for my horrible spelling and grammer skills :))

Dude those cards are not worth it, f you can w8 for the next gen, these cards are overpriced and are just a massive OC on a standard product, 7970 matrix vs 680 lightning is not that simple, there is something called "silicon lottery" and it means the manufacturers often do not pick the best GPU for the card they are making, they test it so it works on their OC profile but a lot of ppl on newegg have complained they can't push it much more, and they sell these as OC friendly stuff...

watch this review it is long but it is worth it, Linus made a video and got different results

So dude w8 for the HD8000 of GF700 series buy a "normal" high end card you can't go wrong, if you can't w8 buy a 670/680 or 7970/7970ghz stock or moderate overclocked cards, you will get 95% same results and save money

I remember seeing a link saying that the 8000 series was just rebranded 7000 series, so I think ill go with a classic gpu like a 7970 or 680 eother way I probably can't go wrong :), but I'm an impatient fellow so I probably will not wait :) BUT THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED :D

Wait for the new cards if you can.

Even if it turns out that they are not what we expected you can still pickup a current gen card for a few bucks cheaper due to the price drop when the new cards have been released.

I'm in the same boat as you with my 2x 6950s, waiting for the "8970" before upgrading.
