when i turn on my computer it loads up to the "do you want to go into windows repair or start windows" then shuts down and on the second time i turn it on it boots up and goes to the "start windows normally, safe mode or something else but i forgot what it is" when i press start windows normally, it boots up fine and then i can use the computer. now the mouse does not work and i have to unplug it and plug it back into the computer to use it again.

all of my windows updates are failing and when i got help from Microsoft's help desk the guy just told me to buy their premium help software... what do i do guys? it has been doing this for a few months but i just gave up trying to fix it :/

can you check to see if your power connections on your mobo is good and secure?

can you list out the things you have done?

what was the last thing you did before this happens?

is windows updated?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

it has been a while since i have tried to fix it but... i tried resetting the bios by taking out the battery from the mobo and replacing it, i tried connecting and reconnecting all of my connections, i tried disabling my overclock and some other things that i cant remember that also didn't work

the power connections are all good

i have no idea what the last thing i did before this happened because it happened in may, right after i built the computer. so maybe installing programs?

since you have no idea when it started

i will suggest do a backup and do a fresh install

and take you time and install the programs

and see which programs or stuffs crash your PC

I think your windows installation had it. What version of windows are you using and can you use a Live Linux CD OK?

it is windows 7 home premium that i stole off my old computer (the code, and i used a bootable usb) and what is a live linux cd?

does that mean that i have to re download everything again? and if so, i probably wont be able to do this because i have a bandwidth cap and :/

and if i do the backup and fresh install doesn't that mean that the problem is on the backup and will screw up the fresh intstal?

when i mean backup

i was referring to backup your important data like bookmarks and documents in your document folders

then do a fresh install of the OS
