I was looking at new laptops and almost all of them have the TPM 1.2 chip, I don't mind it but I'd like to still have to plug in a USB thumb drive to boot that way if my laptop ever gets swiped it'll be useless without my thumb drive which is always hidden. I'm currently using a laptop without TPM so it's simple to just go into group policy and set it to allow bitlocker on devices without TPM but my question is...

TL;DR: If I get a laptop with TPM, will it still let me use a USB drive alongside the TPM module to decrypt the drive or will it default to TPM and not allow configuration?

Preferably looking for answers from somebody who already does this or can link to documentation on the Microsoft site. I've seen some info on Wiki but I'm not going to take that as gospel.
