So I have a friend who wants me to overclock his processor, the A6-6400k. It's just a dual core, so I was assuming I probably wouldn't need to use a cooler other than the stock one, as temps wouldn't get as high as processors with more cores. I know the general procedure, but what should I go for? I can't find much on this particular chip, and I was wondering if there was a particular voltage that was dangerous for APU's with the richland architecture. Also, what kind of temps do I need to watch out for? Thanks for any input you have.

generally AMD APU can run up to 1.5V

but take it slowly from the stock voltage

with a good cooler like the CM 212 Evo/Plus

up the multiplier till the OC becomes unstable

then up the voltage bit by bit until you hit the maximum

VRM cooling is also important as it supplies your CPU with the required power

if his board do not have any heatsinks

buy some RAM heatsinks and stick them to the VRM chips using thermal sticky tape

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
