Are you drivers all current and up to date and does this only happen with FC3 and no other game?

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

yes, all drivers are up to date, far cry 3 is the only game this happens with.

wich cards are you sli'ing ?
because i was running 680's and one of the cards wasn't performing like it should and i had trouble with freezing in far cry 3 to, not that i had to perform hard shutdowns, but pull a card out and test them one by one, just to make sure your cards are fine

I7 3930K @4.4 GHz  /  Asus rampage 4 formula  / 4x 8gb kingston hyperx blue low profile / gtx 980  / 2x ssd 500gb samsung 840 / 500gb 840evo ssd   /  500 GB WD blue /  windows 7 ultimate

I'm running two 660 ti's, i know it's not that one is bad though because i get great scaling in every other game I play, and I've tested both individually and had no crashes.

well, do you have the geforce experience from nvidia? it's a program that gives the optimal settings for each game, maybe try that?
