So im building my first pc and im trying to install windows and when im installing windows it gets about halfway through getting files ready for install and it quits and tells me some of the required files are missing. i have exchanged my microsoft copy of windows twice. i have also burned an iso disk and a flash drive and they all have the same problem... what do i need to do?

first time i ever heard of this

 

have you check if your HDD or SSD is detected in BIOS?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

The HDD is showing up in the bios, i is a seagate and i know theyve been a little shaky over the years so i think there may be a malfunction.

could be that

 

new HDD are pretty cheap 

 

time to head to the shop for a new one
