Minecraft crashing Java issues

TymmVonD

SO, I've been trying to help to new forum member, @Tide , troubleshoot some issues, but this Minecraft one is over my head. I've researched and can find nothing but more people having this problem.

He has deleted Minecraft %appdata%, removed mods, deleted and reinstalled Java, graphics drivers are up to date.

The issue is...

# JRE version: Java SE Runtime Environment (7.0_67-b01) (build 1.7.0_67-b01)

# Java VM: Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM (24.65-b04 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops)
# Problematic frame:
# V [jvm.dll+0x49c9e0]
#
# Failed to write core dump. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows

and also an error on occasion that states "device not closed".

The only different thing from that link that we haven't already tried is running 32-bit instead of 64-bit. Is that what you're recommending?
