GPU Performance Crash

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

I did OC my GPU and it ran fine in Kombustor but not in Payday so I did reset my GPU but the same thing happens.

I am currently using 14.4 but 14.7 and 14.4 have had the same problem.

And I definitely aren't running both Payday and Kombustor at the same time. xD

use this

http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/display_driver_uninstaller_download.html

clean out the driver and perform a clean install of the drivers

use only 14.4

test with Unigine and see if it crashes

I have an R7 260x and I have tried the 14.7 Beta drivers and the 14.4 drivers but when I get into a game (Payday 2, need to test others) the frames are fine, I am getting around 80fps but then after a minute I get a one to two second black screen and then I get lower than 10fps.

I have been using MSI Afterburner and MSI Kombustor and I have kept Kombustor going for a very long time to test my graphics card and it seems fine.

When I look at MSI Afterburner to look at my GPU, when the crash happens my memory clock speed and use are not working properly.

if your GPU is OC

reset everything and try again

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Sounds like throttling to me but if it runs fine in kombustor it cannot be the case. I sure hope you are not running kombustor and payday at the same time :P.

Have you overclocked the gpu? Does it crash with 14.4?

I have done these steps and I am running Unigine.

I will do an edit of this after I have run it for an hour or more, but so far it has not crashed.

Thank you very much for your responses.

It is mostly fixed (Doing more tests to be 100% sure) I think it was due to the driver not being installed properly. (My bad xD)

I am now going to attempt to OC the card but I'm going to do it very slowly.
