My brother wants an ssd for his computer. Will he still be able to play the games on his hdd and access the files on it after installing the ssd?

Yup :) just be sire to tell steam where the games are installed

There is a lack of information being provided here.  It can be done, but it is not a plug and play endeavour. My answer is yes and no.

@farhanorakzai we need more info. What's on the HDD precisely that he wants to access?

 

Files and documents? Yes, no problem. Plug n Play.

 

Steam Games? Yes, tho refer to @MoonSpot's post for more info on that.

 

Games that are manually installed (Traditional C:\Program Files\...), no, you'll likely need to reinstall them.

 

Standard Windows programs? No, most of them will require reinstallation to function properly. Though it depends on the specific program/application.

you might just be able to mirror everything onto the ssd, depending on how much space he used on the hdd
