Z77 motherboard died upgrade to?

I had a i5 2500k in a Gigabyte motherboard and the board is being RMAed.  So I was wondering what new board and CPU would be around the same price.

Why not just wait for the RMA and continue using the 2500K?

But they don't make that board anymore so I don't want some thing crappy back.

1) 2500k is a great CPU

2) You should tell us what you are planning on doing with your PC.

-> Do you want to render, game, do programing?

-> Do you want to OC?

3) If I had to switch platforms, because my CPU or mobo died, I would get an 1150 mobo for around 50 bucks and a 4590 or sth similar, because that would be around 200 bucks and give me enough CPU horsepower for my R9 290.

4) You can get a P8Z77-A for only 60 bucks in Germany. Great mobo, you could just keep your 2500k and look for a good z77-deal.

1) I know

2) Gaming, Programming, video rendering

3) I have a Direct Replacement Plan and I am going to call them in 5 mins and see if they will just RMA the board instead of replacing it.

They wouldn't replace it with a bad motherboard. I've only heard of companies replacing with the same or better. In the UK at least that's the law.
