Keyboard only for certain windows versions?

So today I found the perfect keyboard for my uses, but my pc uses windows 8.1, and it says it's compitable with XP, Vista and 7? What features will be disabled if i get it for 8.1?

It should be fine, unless it has some specific software that won't run on 8.1.

Very unlikely though. Still, it should still work as a standard keyboard.

Keyboards are standard. I don't think things have changed since Windows 98.

a keyboard is a generic device, it will work fine

I've tried my Ducky Shine 3, Topre Realforce 103UB 55G, Type Heaven, KBT Race 2, Leopold FC660C/M, and right now I have a KBParadise V60 Mini hooked up to my main rig (Win8.1) and I have yet to encounter any issue. 

 

A keyboard would run just fine with legacy/generic drivers included in Windows. It's only IF the software for additional functions - like DPI control, LED effect, etc which may be software driven - that the software may not be compatible with Win8/8.1. Heck, I've installed Roccat's (previously) and Logitech Setpoint (or whatever it's called now) for my G502 and it's working just fine.

It will work fine, what keyboard is it?

It's a Gigabyte Osmium Mechanical Gaming keyboard with Cherry MX Reds. Reds because i'm going to be gaming alot, not so much typing.
