After seeing some cool things made with 3D printers, I may get one. There are lot's of options, but most are very expensive.

The one I'm thinking of getting right now is the RigidBot, it's cheap and looks pretty cool.

Anyone have a 3D printer? Are they really worth the money? and should I get a specific one, though I have a small budget, hence the RigidBot.

What are the best one and why? I know that most do the same thing, just diferently, and what sort of software do you use? I may be able to get a free copy of SolidWorks X11 from my school, I think it is compatible too.

Thanks

Make your own. C'mon, it'll be fun :) there are many tutorials and blue prints for makerbots online, and you can just download somebody else's code to run it.

Have a field day in the build log section :P

A lot of Unis that has an Art department will have at least one. If you're able to, ask them for tips!

They're sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it's better than drinkin' alone...
