Trying to build new rig, need some input!

futcher

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to build a new rig and need some input on if I've spent my money in the right place. The price at the moment is a bit more than I'm comfortable with and I wouldn't mind switching out stuff if any part of the rig isn't going to use it's full performance as it currently is setup.

I don't know if power supply with 550W is enough but right now a swedish store where I live has 52% off the original price tag, so it would be nice to use if I can since the 650W of the same brand is more than twice as pricey. I'd rather use the Corsair CS 650M in that case, thoughts?

Also wondering whether the H100i is needed? I've heard that the H60 is kind of bad, although that was my original choice. I'm going for abit like the 4K build Linus showcased with the Corsair case, Bitfenix fans and the cheaper Corsair H100i rather than H110, but maybe it's abit overkill considering the rig isn't as powerful.

Thanks in advance  :) .

Budget? Location? Usage?'

The build looks solid, but throw out that power supply and get a corsair cx 650w or around there.

(Cooler master power supplys are shit.)

It's a good PSU. I would suggest getting a good aircooler like the 212 Hyper EVO or U14S instead. Also the 4GB x 2 version of the RAM to run it in dual channel mode. Also, that's a huge case for your components. You could go mid-tower and much cheaper or still full-tower and much cheaper. However, it's your build, your money.

The budget is corresponds to 1365 US dollars from Swedish crowns. The usage is gaming at home(location?), I want a solid gaming rig although I don't play too demanding games atm, mostly CS:GO, Hearthstone and Diablo 3.

If you can go for a cheaper case and cooler, then you could put the savings towards a better gpu.

Something like the coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo for the cooler, and a Corsair 450D or Phanteks Enthoo Pro for the case.

I've tried some changes since it's abit more expensive in Sweden I think, changed to MSI GTX760 and Z97 Gaming 3. Also changed to Samsung SSD 840 EVO since it was only 100 kr(Swedish crowns) more expensive. The HyperX fury was supposed to be 2x4gb and it cost the same as the 1x8gb anyway. This lands me at 10580 kr or 1445 US dollars, which is about 1000kr(136 US dollars) more than I would like to spend at most.

I really like the case and the H100i fits well into the front. Another option would be Arc midi or Corsair 450D, with maybe a H60 plugged in at the back? With the 450D this would put the build at 9769 kr which wouldn't be much cheaper anyways I guess hehe.

Thoughts on this appreciated.

Edit: I actually have a Noctua NH-D14 that I'm using on my current build, but it's abit too big in my opinion and too hard to keep clean, so I've really liked the idea of getting a water cooled CPU but maybe it's abit overrated?

I also have a HDD at 500gb that I will take from my current build aswell.
