Hey guys,

I'm new to the forums and wanted to get some help in building myself a rig. There are just too many choices out there and I've been out of the building arena for too long.

Anyway, I'm looking to build a gaming pc for $1,500 usd, tower only.

Requirements:

OS - Win7

CPU - intel i5 or i7

Cooling - air cooled(watercooled if budget allows)

SSD -  240gb preferred

HDD -  2tb harddrive

Optional:

Blue or Red color matching with components

Sound card is preferred but not required

I would like to have a black case, not looking for a small tower or a large tower. Something that saves space on my desktop, semi-mobile and still maintains good airflow.

Keyboard, mouse and Monitors are to be purchased seperately after the tower. But my budget for 2 monitors and input devices is $600. If anyone has good suggestions for those as well, they'll be greatly appreciated.

I hope I haven't left anything out. If I did, please let me know and I'll give any needed information needed.

Thanks  :)

.

I really don't see why people don't wait for the Nvidia 800 series to drop. They will likely have a performance increase, or atleast for the price. If nothing else, atleast the 700 series will drop in price. Wait a while, guys

I love StarCraft

Do you want an OS? Otherwise the suggested builds above are good.

EDIT: An awesome keyboard is the Corsair K95 but it's a bit on the expensive side. I have the Razer Tiamat 7.1 Headset and it is AMAZING.

Nah, the $1500 wasn't a firm limit. I don't mind going alittle over if needed.

Quick question regarding that MSI mobo(since just about everything pc related is blocked here at work), in leiu of a soundcard, is there room on that mobo for a wireless card?

Yeah I'm going to be using Windows 7. I stated that it's a requirement but it doesn't need to be included in the build cost.

I'd recommend only 1 graphics card to save money.

Go big or go home

Why get one when you can get 2? Also the improvement from 1 to 2 graphics cards is pretty significant, while the improvements from 2 to 3 or even 4 cards is much smaller, therefor 2 is kind of the sweetspot :D
