H100 with Noctua NF F-12PWM

Go to solution Solved by Samskip,

The temperature difference between push and pull is minimal, just do what you like the most.

I would use it as an exhaust because warm air rises and then it can naturally flow out, outerwise the warm air would just be pushed back into the case.

I just got two Noctua NF F-12 PWM fans and i have a Corsiar 650D case with an H100 in the top i was just wondering if I should put the fans in push or pull config and as an intake or a exhaust? I know Linus covered over push and pull before just wasn't 100% sure.

I have a front intake 200mm fan(being replaced with something else) Silverstone Tek 120mm AP123 in the back as an exhaust and the top h100 in pull as an exhaust

Will there still be enough airflow through the H100 if i have it in pull? and still quiet? I know Notuca is known for its quietness.

It doesn't make a huge difference in terms of performance, but aesthetically I would have it exhausting in a push configuration as shown in my avatar.

But does it not build up dust if it is in pull?

Have it in a pull config with the fan between the radiator and the case. So it will be pulling the air out of the top of the case.

It makes cleaning easier and that way you can hide the noctua colours easily if you wish.

You mean push? It hasn't for me since it's exhausting.

Yeah sorry i meant push because i used to have my old fans in push as exhaust and had some dust build up do you not get that?

No, but I'm using the front Define R4 dust filter which may be preventing it from happening.

Some filters are better than others. Pantyhose has been said to be a great filter, an unmodified retail fan filter probably won't stop dust as effectively since there will be unventilated space where dust can enter the case.

Panty hose is quite interesting actually, for an incredible amount of odd things like being a makeshift belt for a car or truck.
